Sometimes we must “unlearn what you have learned,” (Yoda) in order to parent a Child from Hard Places (a.k.a. children who have experienced significant trauma in their early life). Trying harder does not produce any better results (many of us have tried that!). Parenting such a child requires a different approach that can sometimes be counter-intuitive to some parenting wisdom and practices of the traditional approach.

Empowered To Connect’s Prepare Course – a 6 week intensive course to help prepare prospective adoptive or foster parents to parent children from hard places. This one day crash course is aimed at those who might typically support families parenting children from hard places (grandparents, extended family members, children’s ministry workers, teachers…).
